JAZZ'S INTERNET EMPORIUM

My Favourite Games

Stardew Valley

SV was my first cosy game in years, and on the Switch. It's like an extremely well-polished Harvest Moon. I played Harvest Moon as a kid but never made much progress. I just enjoyed running around the farm, the town, and talking to townspeople.

This is the layout of my main (and first ever) farm.

Roots of Pacha

ROP is like Stardew Valley if you took away any combat, added some more puzzle-related challenges, and set it in prehistoric times. I adore this game so much and, as of March 2025, I am very into it again. I have one save file and my goal is to get all the rare animals. This game is the ultimate cosy game in this genre, IMO. There's no need to rush, no time limits, no missing out on anything, and you can even make the day go longer.

My Time at Sandrock

MTAS is cosy but it's less relaxing than ROP. The resource collecting in this game scratches an itch for me. I love running around and exploring, and the storyline is good too! It feels good to complete missions and see progression.

Humongous Entertainment Games

I can't express how much I LOVE Humongous Entertainment. When I was about 4, a guy came to our old house and installed some games onto our family computer. Our computer room was the best! It was this little room that you had to access by climbing a ladder. It was suspended above the entry section/loungeroom of our two-storey house. I remember Skunny was one of the first games installed, which introduced me to gaming. A few years later, there was a computer shop near my house which sold a bunch of CD-ROMs with games on them.

The day came where we got Putt-Putt, Fatty Bear, Freddi Fish, Let's Play, and Spy Fox. Putt-Putt Goes to the Moon and/or Fatty Bear’s Birthday Surprise were my first games. I ended up buying a package of games on Steam so I can replay these any time I want!

Old Internet Flash Games

I was in high school when Flash games were a big thing. Some guy in my class told me about 2flashgames, and it wasn't long before I found some life/dating sims. I thought they were fun to play, and then it wasn't much longer before I discovered they were VERY NSFW.

I played the hell out of Frank's Adventure and Ganguro Girl. I wasn't particular to the NSFW content - I was too young to really get it and more interested in the gameplay. I remember playing on my family computer and clicking away from the naughty stuff really fast lol.

Subjectively the games were crappily made, with pretty poor English and dialogue, but I had hours of fun on them, because what else is a kid without a Game Boy supposed to do? The music in both games were catchy and I enjoyed the graphics. Frank's Adventure reminded me of playing a GBA game, and Ganguro Girl seemed really well made at the time to me, with their graphics. I mostly enjoyed the music in Frank's Adventure 1 and 2, and didn't actually play the 3rd and 4th one.

Thanks to the Internet Archive and the ruffle extension, many of these games can be played today:
Frank's Adventure 1
Frank's Adventure 2
Frank's Adventure 3
Frank's Adventure 4 and Frank's Adventure 4 "Gold Version"
Ganguro Girl and Ganguro Girl Deluxe Download (this one used to cost money back in the day! It has 2 additional girls you can date)
